WEAPONS - Nunchaku

Traditionally used as an agricultural tool, the Nunchaku (or Nunchuks) evolved mainly out of Japan and was made popular in the Bruce Lee movies. Although different shapes and models exist depending on what you are planning to use them for, the classic shape has always consisted of two octagon sticks connected by a chain.

Our program allows students to practice in a safe and fun environment, while giving them the opportunity to engage in creative thinking and forms. Our focus is on traditional Kata, free style forms, and Sparring. Students are encouraged to actively demonstrate respect for the weapon and fellow students, and safety is strongly emphasized. Indeed, in class, the ability to effectively strike without hurting your partner is valued more than strength and power. Students are matched based on size and ability to provide a safe learning environment.
